Crazy Eights: a guide for your next round
Keep the goal in view while choosing a move. Empty your hand by matching the active suit or the top card’s rank. Eights let you choose the next suit. Each player starts with five cards from a standard 52-card deck. The starting discard is not an eight. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.
Two-player free play with a local computer opponent. No draw-two stacking or reverse cards. A refreshed page starts a new round.
Bring this focus to a round
After an eight, match the called suit or play another eight. The eight’s printed suit is not the active suit. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

The order of play
- Each player starts with five cards from a standard 52-card deck. The starting discard is not an eight.
- Play one matching card. An eight is always playable; choose its suit using the suit selector before tapping the card.
- After an eight, match the called suit or play another eight. The eight’s printed suit is not the active suit.
- Draw one card at a time when needed. Drawing does not end your turn; keep drawing or play a legal card.
- The stock is not recycled. With no stock and no legal card, pass. Two consecutive passes end the round in a draw.
- The first empty hand wins. New round deals again.
